The 34th Annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival at Northstar is September 20-22, 2019! This three-day event brings together the culinary expertise of nationally and internationally renowned chefs, exquisite wine and spirits makers, and so much more!
This annual festival begins with an on-mountain Opening Night dinner at the Zephy Lodge. After an array of tastings and seminars, the weekand ends with Sunday’s Grand Tasting & Culinary Competition. The event is held the third weekend of September in order to fully embrace the fall season in Tahoe. September is a Tahoe local’s favorite month. There are fewer crowds, but the weather is still warm enough to enjoy hiking, biking, and being on the lake. Friday, September 20
Opening Night | 6 - 9 p.m.
Located at the LEED-certified Zephyr Lodge, Opening Night includes a locally-sourced dinner with beer, wine, and craft cocktails.
Saturday, September 21
Pop-Up Seminars & Gourmet Marketplace | 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The open-air market features vendors, displays, and seminars. Learn about new kitchen gadgets or purchase local ingredients.
Wine & Brew Walk | 12 - 4 p.m.
Sample wine and craft beer from a souvenir glass throughout the festival grounds.
Progressive Picnic up Northstar Mountain | 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Go on a hike led by a professional trail guide through the Tahoe National Forest and enjoy three tasting stations along the route from 10 Barrel Brewing.
Vertical Mountainside Tasting (2 sessions) | 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.
Sip wine varieties from Hartwell Vineyards at three different elevations, starting at 6,330 and ending at 7,870.
Charbay Release Party and Bartender Competition | 6:30 - 9 p.m.
Held at the Overlook, taste the R5 Lot No. 5, Fire Relief Whiskey, for the first time at Charby’s official release party.
Sunday, September 22
Gourmet Marketplace | 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Day two for the open-air vendor market.
Grand Tasting & Culinary Competition | 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The big event is the Grand Tasting & Culinary Competition featuring more than 20 of the top chefs in the area compete for the title of ‘Best Marriage of Food and Wine/Beverage,’ ‘Best Food,’ and the ‘People’s Choice Award.’
